Bialla impresses ADB contingent

Members of the Asian Development Bank from Manila have visited West New Britain Province to inspect health facilities and other infrastructures.

They inspected the Bialla Health Centre today and were impressed on the scope of work done by the project team.

Apart from Kimbe, Bialla appears to be the only district town in the country that is growing in-terms of continuous investments in hotel and apartments, besides the rapid rise in shops, opening up of banking services and other business houses.

With such developments, health is of paramount importance to the administration of Governor Sasindran Muthuvel.

The ADB members in partnership with the Provincial Government will be likely to commit to fund the upgrade of Bialla health center to a district hospital.

Provincial Health Planner Paul Tokovai said the ADB is very keen in funding the project but did not disclose the funding amount.

He said Bialla Health centre has been serving the vast majority of population in the area and needed an upgrade to serve the people better.
