456 graduate from Kiunga Secondary

On Wednesday December 7, Kiunga Secondary School (KSS) in the North Fly of Western Province witnessed the passing out of 456 Grade 10 and Grade 12 students.

The school celebrated its 45th Grade 10 and 22nd Grade 12 graduation under the theme ‘Improving the status quo of our school’.

Led by traditional singsing group, the graduates and invited guests walked into graduation arena, all smiles.

KSS Principal, Sowati Ole said though the school did not have enough funds to cater for teaching and learning activities this academic year, hardworking teachers ensured that students were taught well enough to sit for the national exams.

He stated that the school has K1 million in the account but accessing the funds from April to August 2022, did not eventuate due to security changes to the school account. The issue has been identified and will be addressed by the school board management in order to begin the 2023 academic year on a good footing.

“Thank you for all that you have done; to your parents and the guardians for your support to our students here you have done yourselves proud for allowing this to take place,” Mr Ole said.

He added that within Western Province itself, Kiunga Secondary did exceptionally well in overall performances in the Grade 10 national exams this year.
