Beautiful mural vandalised

The business community in Port Moresby has gotten behind the RSPCA of PNG’s fight against graffiti, after the beautiful mural of animals that features on their fence was recently vandalised.

In a statement, RSPCA said: “This mural was painted by the internationally renowned PNG artist, the late Martin Morubabuna, in 2010.”

Thankfully, an air conditioning firm stepped in to lend a helping hand.

“South Pacific Air Conditioning is an avid supporter of the RSPCA of PNG and over the years, has donated and contributed to many of our needs, including having the graffiti cleaned,” stated RSPCA.

“The clinic is located on the corner of Kunai Street and Waigani Drive, and this beautiful mural adds to our city’s beauty. It is a welcoming sight for many drivers who sit in the long queue in traffic at the Waigani Central round-about.

“The mural also creates a nice, warm greeting for travelers coming into the province as it is one of the first significant sights of Port Moresby.”

The RSPCA is also grateful for the support received from Dulux Group of Companies, who, like South Pacific Air Conditioning, time and time again donate to their charity.
