The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), a sister agency of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is celebrating its 50th Anniversary on Thursday.
UNCDF is an investment agency for the world’s 48 least developed countries.
UNCDF offers “last mile” finance models that unlock public and private resources, especially at the domestic level, to reduce poverty and support local economic development.
To mark this momentous milestone, the United Nations Papua New Guinea Office is hosting a celebration networking event with key stakeholders.
The event will be held at the Grand Papua Hotel.
The main guest speaker will be from the UNCDF Executive Secretary who will be represented by Roy Trivedy, UN Resident Coordinator for PNG.
Special speeches will be also be made from Ioannis GIOGKARAKIS-ARGYROPOULOS, EU Head of Delegation and Loi Bakani, Governor of the Bank of Papua New Guinea.
