SNS shop to set benchmark

City Pharmacy Group managing director, Mahesh Patel, says the reopened Stop N Shop Central Waigani shopping complex will set the benchmark in retailing.

This will be through improved customer service and offering of local goods.

He added the reopening was a new beginning for the retail chain as it embarks on a new journey.

Following its surprise opening yesterday, Stop N Shop Central Waigani is touted as a fresh start for the CPL group, which has gone through very challenging times.

Patel said the shop will set the benchmark for it to move forward.

“This becomes the benchmark so the whole idea is to roll out and upgrade our other Stop N Shops, our other pharmacies.

“This was like the big mountain to climb and now we’re here we are just going to keep going on and on,” said Patel.

Patel said an overhaul of its services will be done to ensure this drive is moved forward.

“It’s really a new beginning. We’re going to really look at all our departments, retrain our staff into the higher standards because that’s the only way we are going to compete with the other independents.

“We will focus on fresh produce, customer service and a lot of training.”

The CPL has already employed a further 200 people on top of the existing staff they have for the reopening.
