NCSL opens new branch

The NASFUND Contributors Savings & Loans Society Limited (NCSL) has begun embarking on developing its own branch network in the country.

This follows the official opening of its new stand-alone branch in Port Moresby to serve members.

In a statement, NCSL says the development is part of a strategic plan to develop their own branch network and implement initiatives to strengthen its position as the fastest growing savings & loan society in the country with a healthy record of returns for members.

“This is another historical moment for NCSL because this is the first standalone NCSL branch in the National Capital District and the second one in the country after the one in Lae. In the past, we shared the same space with NASFUND at these branches,” said NCSL’s General Manager Vari Lahui.

“This move is part of NCSL’s 5 year strategic plan, which was approved by the Board and reaffirmed during its strategy review workshop in Lae towards the end of last year.”

The new branch in Boroko was constructed and designed to be customer/member friendly, featuring four client service counters and a waiting area with a 15-member seating capacity.

The branch also features the following;

  • Separate counters for its Biometric Identification Service (BIS) – which is a self-service touch screen device for members,
  • Internet banking to enable members to lodge their loan or withdrawal application online which will see a quicker turn-around time in processing member applications and accessing funds.

Fifty percent of NCSL’s membership is based in NCD and this development will further enhance the Society’s member services experience as it continues to grow in all facets of its operations.
