K3 billion tourism hub construction to start soon

The investor and developer of Paga Hill Estate will start construction of its K3 billion tourism hub master plan in Port Moresby next year.

That is the guarantee from Paga Hill Development Company CEO Gudmundur Fridriksson today after the MoU signing with Tourism Promotion Authority CEO Jerry Agus and Trade, Commerce and Industry secretary, John Andrias.

Fridriksson said it was a proud moment for the company as it took 20 years to see the proposal get off the ground.

Paga Hill Development Company will meet the total cost of construction of the planned tourism hub.

Fridriksson challenged the government to provide incentives to help the company in fast tracking the construction of the project.

He added that the construction of the resort and cultural museum is earmarked to be completed in time for the 2018 APEC meet in the nation’s capital.

Tourism Minister Tobias Kulang and Trade, Commerce and Industry Minister Richard Maru witnessed the MoU signing today.
