Change your FB profile frame, create awareness

The Purple Ribbon picture frame campaign for Facebook users run by the Family and Sexual Violence Action Committee (FSVAC) this month is to create awareness on the domestic violence issue in the country.

Those who are interested in supporting this cause can update their FB profile with the frame.

Users are encouraged to visit and like the FSVAC Facebook page and see the post on isupportcause.com.

Domestic violence thrives when we are silent and do not do anything about it, but if we take a stand and work together to educate and create awareness we can reduce the incidents of domestic violence,” says FSVAC National Coordinator, Marcia Kalinoe.

Kalinoe is encouraging all FSVAC partners throughout the country to help raise awareness on domestic violence and its harmful impacts on families and individuals throughout the month of October.

“Purple is the domestic violence colour, so wear a purple ribbon if you believe and want to advocate against domestic violence or use purple items for office decorations to get messages across to others,” she said.

FSVAC is selling purple ribbons for K2 (per ribbon) and all proceeds from the successful sale of ribbons will go towards supporting FSV services.

For individuals or organizations interested in purchasing ribbons and supporting this worthy cause, call Nesther on 321 1397 and arrangements will be made to drop off ribbons.
