Digital technology is vital, says Kiap

She raised this during the networking event co-hosted by Australia and PNG.

Kiap stated that Education gives you many choices however sees Digital technology as an important part of education.

“We Papua New Guineans must have access to information, developing ideas, modern behavior whether political or social, model structure of society, innovation and creativity through digital through digital technology and the list goes on.

Dadae retains GG post

Sir Bob received 71 votes and Winnie Kiap received 33 in the second round of voting. Steven Pokawin, the third candidate to nominate as GG, was voted out in the first round.

Member for Kiriwina-Goodenough and Deputy Leader of Opposition, Douglas Tomuriesa was first to congratulate Sir Bob and the two candidates.

“The Governor General must remain impartial at all times,” Tomuriesa said.

“The Governor General is the guardian of the PNG Constitution. His election is an election of confidence and he must serve the interest of this nation.

The film premiered this week (8 April) in London’s Covent Garden district, the cultural hub of the city, and had to be moved to a bigger cinema screen after attracting a near sell-out audience. Most had never had the opportunity to watch a film about PNG.

Ms. Kiap was nominated by her peers for outstanding service as a diplomat promoting the interests of both PNG and the United Kingdom and in her role and capacity in other organisations based in London.

“Papua New Guinea is indeed proud of your achievement having won the 2018 Diplomat of the Year award,” Grand Chief Sir Bob Bofeng Dadae said.
