Provincial Administrator denies claims

The complaint, made by another prominent leader of the province, came about because the provincial COVID-19 operations in the province, lacked logistics support.

The leader who wants to remain anonymous, said all the operations of COVID-19 in the Local Level Governments have come to a standstill because no vehicles to conduct the operations.

The Provincial Administrator was accused of buying a new car from the public purse, for his own use.

Ubae-Amio road upgraded

The road, which is a national highway has been deteriorating over the years putting travelers’ lives at risk particularly in wet weather.

The section of the Road is being upgraded by Kaulong Limited who has been awarded a contract of K3 million.

Provincial Administrator and chairman of Provincial Supply and Tenders Board Williamson Hosea said K2 million is from the Log Export Levy while K1 million is from the Governor’s Provincial Support Improvement Program Fund.

He said Kaulong will work on the road as soon as it is mobilized.
