Vipers escape defeat

Vipers Take The Win

Vipers secured their first win on home soil with a 16 points win defeating the Kimber Cutters 6.

The second match of the 2021 in the Digicel Cup Competition was between the Kimbe Cutters and Port Moresby Vipers was tough match as both teams locked horns in the first half.

Vipers where too good to make a first impression on home soil stepping their mark to score the first try with conversion unsuccessful.

The Kimbe men changed their game plan and managed to score the first try get in the gap to score their first try and to lead by 6 points.

Wins to Vipers, Muruks, Gurias and Tigers

In Port Moresby, Vipers def. Bintangor Goroka Lahanis 24-18. In Lae, Tigers defeated EPG Enga Mioks 18-16.

Across to Kokopo, Gurias won Kroton Hela Wigmen 16-12. Up to Goroka, Muruks took out Waghi Tumbe 10-0.

Waghi Tumbe ready to face Vipers

 Goi said in a statement that Waghi Tumbe is ready to take on the Vipers after a three weeks break on bye.

“Over these three weeks, the boys have trained very hard to put up a very competitive game at Murray Barracks Oval on Sunday.

“The long weeks on bye has prepared us well in both mental and physical fitness in order to meet the city boys. 

“And also it’s a good opportunity for the young and inexperienced boys who are purely home grown players to put up a good game against the most experienced boys from the city,” Goi said.
