Training camp

Tough call for young guns

They have to live at home and come for training on a daily basis and this has shown to be tough for the new faces.

Hunters Head Coach, Stanley Tepend said this is the new training approach taken to build character, self-discipline and mental toughness.

He said previously, players had been accommodated but for this year, they have changed their strategy especially for those news players who have just joined the training camp.

Progress noted in Hunters’ training camp

Head coach Michael Marum is pleased so far with the progress in the training camp.

The team has so far bonded well with a retreat to one of the outer islands with West New Britain Governor Sasindral Muthuvel over the weekend.

Monday (Sept 4) afternoon's training run at the Kimbe Rugby Oval was part of a week-long training camp as a lead up to the major semifinals of the Intrust Super Cup.

The SP PNG Hunters will play the Redcliff Dolphins on the 10th of September for a direct entry into the Intrust Super Cup grand final.
