Gurias extended their lead early in the second half after Jason Missian converted a penalty right in front to put the score to 18-8.

The Lions put themselves right back in the game when a double pump from five eighth Nathan Mili put Job Roltinga through a gap to score under the posts.

Enoch Sine made sure the extras were added to set the tone for a fight to the finish.

The next 10 minutes saw sloppy football with poor ball handling from both sides.
