Tepai Moeroa

Moeroa re-signs with Eels

Moeroa first signed with Parramatta as a 14-year-old in 2010, and has become one of the most versatile forwards in the game.

In announcing Moeroa's re-signing for the next two seasons, Eels coach Brad Arthur said he was pleased the club has retained one of its juniors who has developed into a dominant forward.

Moeroa facing one-week ban

The Grade 1 charge for his challenge on Titans half Ash Taylor during the Eels loss to the Gold Coast attracts 200 points, but he could avoid a two-game suspension with an early guilty plea.

Moeroa and Eels look ahead to right wrongs

"You can't change it now, so just worry about what you can do in 2017," was the simple mantra from Arthur to his players.

The club will look to get off to a bright start when the first football of the year is played in Auckland at the Downer NRL Auckland Nines.

Among the more serious penalties imposed on the club for major salary cap breaches wrought by a since-dismissed administration was the stripping of the 2016 Auckland Nines trophy – the club's first serious silverware since the 1986 premiership.
