Captains gather for photoshoot with Digicel Cup

The 11 2016 Digicel Cup team captains today gathered at the Laguna Hotel in Port Moresby.

Being captain was a challenge - Zeming

The 26 year old has represented the Hunters over two seasons and 41 games in the Intrust Super Cup, scoring 13 tries and kicked 134 conversions.

He also played for PNG in the 2014 Prime Ministers 13, the test match against Tonga in 2014, the test match against Fiji in 2014 and the 2015 Pacific Games rugby league nines competition.

Zeming said it was a huge responsibility but he was able to stay calm and control the team with the help of the coaching staff.

Hunters to name co-captains

Eliab will leave for England after he signed a one-year contract with the second tier London Broncos for the 2016 season.

The co-captains will have several additional roles and responsibilities over and above those of regular players.

Their additional roles include being second to the coach and an on field leader who has the ability to inspire the players and sometimes address umpires and the media.

Coach Michael Marum will be appointing the co-captains and is yet to confirm how many he will be appointing.
