The items were recovered during a police raid at the village over the weekend.

NCD superintendent operations, Michael Tilae, said dinghies were used for the crimes within the space of a month in different areas, including the Napanapa refinery and AES near Roku village. 

Reports were received of thefts being allegedly conducted by men from Tatana however, a raid was not conducted until a warrant of search was obtained last week.

Furthermore, a search could not be conducted due to Tatana being one of the no-go zones for police.

They do want the locals to take the matter and law into their own hands.

NCD metropolitan superintendent, Perou N’Dranou, made this clear during another brief on Tuesday.

The cause of death has been determined medically by the appropriate authorities and the case is now before the coroner.

The police boss has warned not to accuse innocent people of sorcery as the cause of the late rugby star’s death.

Police from the Waigani Police Station acting upon information went into Tatana village around 7pm that same evening and arrested two suspects namely, Anapa Resena aged 23 years and Siyen Kevin aged 22 years.

Both suspects voluntary surrendered and were taken to Waigani cells to be locked up and are awaiting further investigation. The other three suspects are known and will be arrested soon.

Both suspects are believed to be among a group of five men who attacked Captain Malakai Sijou on October 7^th.

The partnership will see the program rolled out to schools in Papa Lealea, Hanuabada, Baruni, Boera, Tatana, Porebada, Port Moresby, Hides and Moro.
