Twin farewell: Reliable Morris wants elusive title before retiring

But on Monday afternoon he was thanking both men, along with his devoted mother Karen and siblings, for contributing to a 15-year journey that began at the Dragons and will finish at the Roosters this season.

Morris followed suit with his brother Brett to confirm he'll retire after the Roosters' last finals game in an announcement that was made without his wife Elise and children Cali and Jesse in attendance, who remain in lockdown in Sydney.

NRL fines Roosters, Robinson over abuse of match officials

According to the NRL statement, it proposes a $10,000 fine for alleged abuse of match officials during the match, a $20,000 fine for comments made by Robinson following the Roosters' loss to South Sydney and a suspended $10,000 fine will also be activated, if the club is found to have breached NRL Rules regarding public commentary on match officials.

As far as the fine for on-field abuse, the NRL has announced Roosters officials are alleged to have made abusive comments towards on-field match officials and the stand-by referee during the match.

Butcher cut down as Roosters carve up Dragons with late flurry

After three tries within 15 minutes, either side of half-time, gave the Dragons the ascendancy as they turned a 14-0 deficit into a 16-14 lead, the Roosters responded strongly to remain in fourth spot on the ladder.

The win was soured by the loss of Adam Keighran (failed HIA) and Nat Butcher to a suspected serious knee injury. Dale Copley, Sam Verills, Siosiua Taukeiaho and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves were also struggling at different stages of the match.

Another starring display from James Tedesco got the Roosters rolling in the first half.

Knights utility Watson poised for Roosters return

Just days after Watson celebrated his 100th NRL appearance, the Knights announced on Tuesday that Watson had accepted a deal elsewhere and would leave after four seasons in the Hunter.

There has been no official statement on Watson's next move, but NRL.com understands the Roosters are leading the race to secure his signature.

‘Might start looking like rugby union’: Legend’s warning after controversial penalty

The Broncos were penalised for a high shot on Roosters second-rower Sitili Tupouinua after James Tedesco jumped at the opportunity to call for a captain’s challenge on a tackle.

The replay showed that Thomas Flegler had made contact with Tupouinua and so the Roosters were awarded the penalty, with Adam Keighran nailing the goal to seal a 21-20 win.

A frustrated Michael Ennis was practically speechless when asked about the incident on Big League Wrap.

“If that’s a penalty... I don’t know... you take this one James, I’ve had enough of this,” he said.

Keighran kicks Roosters to drama-charged win over Broncos

In a chaotic final eight minutes, where the scoreline changed three times, Broncos forward Tom Flegler was ruled to have collected Sitili Tupouniua high by the NRL Bunker after James Tedesco challenged a knock-on decision in the 78th minute.

Roosters centre Adam Keighran brushed aside the club's goal-kicking woes this season to slot the match-winner after the Broncos looked to be home only moments earlier in a crazy passage of play.

Roosters see off St Helens

The back-to-back NRL champions defeated Wigan Warriors in the 2019 one-off fixture and, despite falling behind against Saints on Saturday, once again came out on top against their Super League counterparts.

Luke Thompson – who will head to Australia after the season to join the Canterbury Bulldogs – opened the scoring when he crashed over from Theo Fages' pass for a converted try.

The Dragons roared back, however, with Daniel Tupou hanging on to a low pass by his boots before waltzing over the line on his side's left flank.

Cronk joins Roosters coach staff to help halves

The back-to-back premiers announced Cronk has signed on to be a part-time specialist halves coach and will work with every playmaker coming through Roosters system next year.

Cronk, 35, retired following the NRL grand final after a third consecutive premiership with the Roosters and Storm.

The Tricolours have signed former Cronulla playmaker Kyle Flanagan as a replacement for the two-time Dally M medallist.

He's likely to partner premiership-winner Luke Keary in the halves with Lachlan Lam another option for Roosters coach Trent Robinson.

Mitchell's heroics sink Warriors' slim NRL hopes

Needing to win to stay in finals contention, the Warriors led 6-0 early on Sunday afternoon but otherwise failed to land a punch as they conceded eight unanswered tries.

They also lost Gerard Beale to a serious knee injury early, while Jazz Tevaga might be suspended for a late shoulder charge on Cronk.

Tevaga was sin-binned for the hit and, while Cronk initially remained grounded, he played on without any real concerns.

Upcoming Roosters winger makes Kumuls squad

The 21-year-old is an up-and-coming young winger for the Sydney Roosters.

After missing last year with an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, Lewis has been playing consistent football with the North Sydney Bears in the Canterbury Cup this season.

The Sydney Roosters have congratulated Lewis on his selection and wished him the best of luck ahead of kick off.

The inclusion of Lewis will now bring the number of debutants to seven.
