School Rugby gets corporate backing

This entire week, sponsors visited individual schools to present the jerseys. Only one launching is set for this weekend, and parents and guardians can witness.

MSRL Board Chairman, Tony Kerowa, announced the School Rugby Clubs Jersey and Sponsor launching program set for 9am Saturday August 5, at the Ron Alberts Oval in Madang town.

Schools participating in the school rugby competition are Holy Spirit Primary School (Saints), Kusbau Primary School (Marlins), Lutheran Day Primary School (Storms), Jomba Primary School (Eagles) and Gum Primary School (Titans).

ExxonMobil co-sponsors Digicel Cup

ExxonMobil has come on board as a naming rights sponsor for Digicel Cup. The announcement was made today at the Santos National Football Stadium.

Present at the event were PNGNRLC Chairman Adrian Chow, Digicel CEO Colin Stone and ExxonMobil Chairman and Managing Director Peter Larden.

Before making the announcement Chairman Chow took a moment to reflect on the journey and values and importance of having the national rugby league competition and how it’s impacting on the lives of our young people and the pathway it provides.

Samoa 2019 sponsorship director labels event the "Miracle Games"

A group of 11 sponsors have signed agreements with the Pacific Games due to take place between July 7 and 30 in Apia. 

The sponsors come from the private and public sectors, as well as state-owned organisations.

Digicel Samoa, Commercial Bank, Samoa Shipping Corporation and No 1 Currency are among the sponsors.

The portfolio also includes McDonald’s, Apia Insurance, Samoa Stationery and Books, the Samoa Ports Authority, the Electric Power Corporation, SkyEye and Accident Compensation Corporation.

Organisers thank sponsors for successful event

The event started on Friday with the Kinavai at the Rabaul Memorial Park followed by the canoe race and the Go Go Cola Float parade on Saturday.

The Float Parade involved more than 100 business houses parading around Rabaul town.

The festival will end today with a liturgy service to commemorate the volcanic eruptions in 1994.

Today marks 21 years since the eruption.
