39 graduate with early teaching certificate

A total of 15 teachers from the Central Province, 15 from the nation’s capital and 9 from Gulf Province were the focus of the main celebrated event.

Early Childhood Teaching representative, Mara Wape, upon welcoming the graduands, encouraged them to teach with passion and care for the children.

He said few have the passion to teach children to have very high success rates.

“You graduands came with this quality and the PNG Digicel Foundation has identified that quality in you.”

Judge to be farewelled in court sitting

The sitting will take place from 9am before the casket can proceed to the Rev. Sione Kami Memorial church for the funeral service from 11am.

The senior residential judge of the East New Britain Province will be flown back to Kokopo on Thursday.

The main funeral service will be held on Friday in Kokopo, before the late judge’s casket is repatriated to New Ireland on Saturday.

He will be laid to rest in Lelet village, New Ireland, on Sunday, August 27.

Department to host public servants’ dedication service

The public servants’ prayer dedication day will be held on Friday, January 6, at the Sione Kami Memorial Church in Port Moresby.

Chief Secretary Isaac Lupari with all department heads will attend the ceremony to open the new public service year.

The event will start at 9am with the National Anthem and Pledge, led by the Correctional Service band.

A recital of public service Oath will be made with an address by Lupari before the dedication prayer.

World’s top reggae gospel band delights Moresby residents

Christafari is currently in Moresby after performing in Rabaul and Lae as part of its Melanesian tour.

Papua New Guinea is now the 60th country the band has visited.

Christafari, formed in 1990 is centred on the personality of ordained Minister Mark "Tansoback" Mohr an American, born-again Christian.

Until the age of 17, Mohr was a Rastafarian and the essential goal of Christafari is to promote Christianity to all people including Rastafarians.

The band will perform this weekend at the Sione Kami Memorial Church (RSKMC) for two nights, tonight (Saturday 7 November) and tomorrow (Sunday 8 November) starting at 6pm.
