Sabeto Roosters

Gurias are 2015 Melanesian Club Champions

It was a hat trick to centre Edward Goma in the second half that set up a comprehensive win for the home side.

Goma scored early in the second half and  again in the 54th minute to put the score out to 26-2 after Jason Missian missed the conversion.

Missian himself went in 10 minutes later after quick hands gave him space to dive over on the wing.

Konie Bernard added more points through a barnstorming run to get himself over the line.

Gurias lead 16-2 at break

The Roosters had the first opportunity to register points in the fourth minute of play but Kolinio Radrovi was unable to convert the penalty goal.

Minutes later it was the Gurias who made the most of an opportunity through Pidi Tongap who barged through the Roosters defence to score first points.

Jason Missian added the extras for the Gurias to take a 6-0 lead after 11 minutes of play.

Sabeto Roosters ready for Rabaul Gurias

Sabeto Roosters will not take the home side lightly when they clash in the Melanesian Club championship.

Sabeto coach Voate Naravu said they’re here to win and are confident despite not knowing much about the Gurias.

The Fiji side will be banking on top players like Tevita Niusama and veterans Semisi Qoro, Viliame Rakuli and Roger Qoro.

“It’s good to bring the team out to get international exposure and allow the players to gain more experience.
