PNG touch rugby into semi finals

PNG started strongly taking a 6-0 lead at half time.

Touch downs went to Margret Luke, Marlon Stevens, Kele Lessy and Grace Kouba.

PNG continued their dominance in the second half of play with touch downs scored that included Pauline Arazi and Jenny Carol.

Cook Islands only managed one touchdown to Cahjun Willis.

In other games, Tonga beat Kiribati 10-5.

PNG will play again at 12pm once the draws are finalized.

The medal play offs are scheduled for this afternoon.

PNG touch women slam Samoa, 6-2

PNG dominated the second half, scoring four more touch downs to bring home the win.

All 6 touch downs were scored by captain Diane Vetu and Nadya Taubuso.

PNG were undefeated, winning all their round robin games and into the finals as well.

In the bronze medal play off, Cooks Islands did it easily over Kiribati, winning 11-2.

PNG lead Kiribati 12-1 at break

PNG’s try scoring machine Marie Max got them going in the first minute and the touchdowns continued to pile on with other points scored by Mariah Alu, Grace Kouba and Jenny Carol.

Kiribati showed some class to grab a touchdown and register their first point before the break.

PNG men’s win 5 in a row

The PNG boys doubled the tempo in the second half of play with 9 touch downs scored. Simon Kora David led the way picking up four touch downs.

This is PNG’s fifth win in a row.

PNG will play their last match this afternoon against Tonga. Finals will start tomorrow.

Both men’s and women’s teams from PNG lead the competition with no losses so far.

The PNG boys have so far proved too fast and versatile for Tuvalu who are trying to keep up with their pacy game.
