Successful Applicants for graduate Program announced

The applicants were selected after a long and comprehensive screening process, with well over 200 expressions of interest being received for the Graduate Development and Apprenticeship Programs. The Remington Group programs have attracted some of the best candidates that Papua New Guinea has to offer in their chosen fields of study. 

Empowering tomorrow's technicians

The apprentices, Lindon Tairo, Stanley Timon, Sione Mega and Nowes Nati, specializing in electro-technology signed a four-year agreement with Remington Group and the National Apprenticeship and Trade Testing Board (NATTB) on Thursday, November 2, 2023.

This agreement opens the doors for these aspiring technicians to engage in comprehensive studies and on-the-job training, providing them with opportunities to acquire new skills aligned with industry expectations within their respective trades.

Recently, one of the group’s business unit, Remington Technology commenced celebrations around achieving its 75th anniversary this year, having been born in PNG in 1948.

The company, known for its innovation and commitment to service excellence, is using this juncture to reflect on its journey, redefine its work culture, and reinforce its organisational strategy.

‘Loyal to Local’ campaign launched

The objective of this campaign is to inspire and encourage both business communities and individuals to reconsider their purchasing choices and embrace the power of buying locally. By raising awareness about the vital importance of supporting local enterprises, the campaign aims to increase local business visibility, stimulate the local economy and foster a sense of community pride through supporting local businesses, and most importantly ensure that PNG financial resources stay in PNG.

Remington Apprentices Certified

On March 23rd 2023, five Service Technicians from RG’s business units ofs Remington Technology, FX Business Centre and BizPrint & Scan achieved a milestone in their careers by signing their Apprenticeship contracts with the National Trade and Testing Board (NATTB).

The Remington Group Apprenticeship Program is facilitated in collaboration with the Department of Labour and Industrial Relations (DLIR) through NATTB.

Remington signs MoU with tech schools

The Remington Group conducts three programs annually; the Graduate Program, Apprenticeship Program, and On-The-Job Training.

The understanding formalizes a platform that allows for the Remington Group and the educational institutions to collaborate and focus on providing secondary students with On-the-job training and TVET students with training through the Apprenticeship Program, enabling them to develop their skills and expose them to the industry and their disciplines.

Remington Group joins Nasfund discount program

Through the Fund’s Membership Discount Program (MDP), Remington’s Nasfund members can now enjoy the following discounts from services across its three business units; 12.5% discount on all Konica Minolta small office & home office devices from Remington Technologies nationwide, 15% discount on all FujiFilm small office & home office devices from FX Business Centre, and 10% discount printing, banners, business cards, photos & Corflute’s from BizPrint & Scan.

Pioneer GDP Recipients Certified

Billy Minata and Josephine Beni are pioneers of the Remington GDP initiative. Josephine Beni is the Inventory & Supply Assistant in the Logistics Department and Billy Minata is one of Internal Auditors in the Finance Department.

The Remington Group GDP is a four-year program that provides hands-on training and learning through exposure to different areas of the business. It allows a graduate to be matched with a mentor - who is an industry expert based on his or her skills and interests.

Remington Apprentices Announced

The apprentices were selected based on their academic merits, including other factors, such as character and discipline. The induction and onboarding ceremony occurred yesterday, formally welcoming the five individuals to the Group.

The apprentices will be placed in the Group’s respective Business Units; Remington Technology, BizPrint & Scan and FX Business Centre to undergo four years of training, coaching and mentoring with a team of professionals.

Butuka Academy Receives Support

This partnership is part of the Remington Group’s ongoing development program as they help build a brighter future for the coming generations of Papua New Guineans, assisting them to reach their highest potential.  

The Remington Group has pledged to support the school by sponsoring three prizes as an incentive for their best Grade 10 and Grade 12 ICT students, and overall grade 12 Dux of the Butuka Academy in 2022.
