The two were dragged out of a car by a group of men along a highway between Noida, a Delhi suburb, and Kanpur city on Friday, reports said.

Three male relatives travelling with them were assaulted and tied up.

The incident has caused outrage across the country and raised questions about police efficiency.

Some of the victims alleged that they got no response from the official helpline number.

A New Delhi trial court found Farooqui, best known as co-director of the 2010 film, "Peepli (Live)," guilty Saturday of raping the 35-year-old woman in the nation's first conviction for an oral sex rape, prosecution lawyer advocate Vrinda Grover told CNN.

The man raped the woman at gunpoint on March 7^th after he intercepted her late at night when she was returning home after visiting relatives.

Police reported that at the time of the incident, the man was under the influence of homebrew and drugs.

He was arrested by highway patrol during the early hours of Friday (April 22^nd) outside the Malalaua station when trying to board a PMV bound for Port Moresby.

The man is now in police custody and has been charged with rape, grievous body harm and assault with a deadly weapon.

Magistrate Cosmas Bidar in his ruling today said there was no doubt in the statements of the victims who were aged 11 and 13 at that time.

Ten months after the alleged incident,   the court found sufficient evidence against Ganima Samuel and Frank John.

They will return to court in two weeks time where their lawyer will indicate whether they will be making any statements in response to the Court finding sufficient evidence against them.

Their co-accused, Pakanda Las who has since left Port Moresby for Mt Hagen will also be expected in court then.

NCD Metropolitan police commander Ben Turi tells PNG Loop that this case took place at about 9pm on New Years day at Tokam barracks, Waigani.

He says that the probationary constable allegedly walked to the victim’s house next to where he lives and lured her to the buai market at the barracks gate.

Reports state that the suspect after returning from the market forced the 13 year old girl into his room and forcefully penetrated her.

Investigators tell LOOP News that the case is such that there must be hard evidence linking suspects to the crime to ensure a chance of conviction.

As of last week the main suspect, a mature age student aged 26  was arrested and is now at Bomana Prison waiting to appear in court on charges of sexual penetration.

Four other suspects are still at large but their identities are known to police.

The assault occurred on Tuesday afternoon, July 16^th she told TV WAN and an official complaint was made at town police station on Wednesday July 17^th.

And while she cannot remember the incident clearly, she remembers waking up in a teacher’s house in the school; her T-Shirt was torn as if it had been cut in the middle with a sharp object.

The accused; Ganima Samuel, Frank John and Pakanda Las made their third appearance at the Committal court on charges of abduction, deprivation of liberty and the sexual penetration of two girls below the age of 18 years.

The incident took place on April 3, 2015 at the Motana settlement near Baruni dump.

The girls were aged 10 and 13 years at that time.

Police Prosecutor Chris Iga informed the court that investigations by police are nearing completion with medical reports of the two girls obtained.
