Magasiva's family were expected to attend, including his older brother Robbie who has taken a break from filming Australian series Wentworth.
Several of the former Shortland Street actor's celebrity friends are also understood to have been invited.
Magasiva was found dead in Wellington on Saturday. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
While Magasiva's family have opted to keep his funeral private, they have thanked the public for the "outpouring of love" they have received since his death.
