POMNA announces new executives

Ligo said season proper will start on June 2.

POMNA starts first weekend of trials

The second weekend of trials will be held the following Saturday, March 24 followed by the POMNA Annual General Meeting on Sunday, March 25.

Saturday, April 4 will be the last weekend of trials.

President of the POMNA, Roy Mulina said the trials are for the senior divisions only.

“Junior divisions will commence when the proper season commences on Saturday, April 14.

“For the AGM, we would like to invite two representatives from each club to attend. The election of new office bearers will also be conducted at the AGM.

POMNA to see increase in teams this season

President of the POMNA, Roy Mulina said there will be now ten divisions to accommodate for the new teams.

“We had 168 teams last year playing in eight divisions. This will increase this year.

“The total number of teams will be confirmed just right before the season starts next month,” said Mulina.

He added the POMNA is still running its trial matches and this will run into early April.

“The trial matches are for us to make an assessment of the teams and decide if some need to be moved up a division or relegated down.

Vice treasurer of the POMNA, Christabella Amona said the trial matches will run for three more weekends with the season proper scheduled to start next month in April.

She said today saw a slow start with a number of forfeits across the eight divisions (1-8) in the competition.

She added that things should pick up by next weekend, and that the POMNA is anticipating an increase in the number of teams that will take part this season
