Morale booster for police officers

The Six-Mile acting Police Station Commander, Chief Sgt Bruce Amos, said most times, commanders meet with the NCD police boss then pass down information to their subordinates.

This time, he wants his officers to hear from the metropolitan superintendent themselves.

It is hoped that their face-to-face meeting will also boost officers’ morale.

Congestion leads to increased crime: Maprik police

The town provides services for people from almost eight districts, including the Lumi and Nuku districts of West Sepik.

Hence the increased number of people at one time has created law and order issues for the area.

Police Station Commander Damien Linus is determined to restore Maprik to its former days – a peaceful and economical centre.

Linus said it is no secret that the rate of crime has expanded and taking up office just days in has not allowed him to go through the record and data of crime rates in the area.

Superintendent Kombe calls it a day after 31 of years’ service

One of them being Superintendent for Operations and Police Station Commander for Boroko Police Station Brian Kombe.

Kombe has spent 31 years in the force, having joined the police force in 1985.

NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Ben Turi commended Kombe during the farewell parade yesterday for the years he had put into the force in making sure the needs of the general public were met.
