Cabin Crew First Aid Certified

The training is a requirement for the cabin crew to carry out before entering their roles for 2022, and they were awarded certificates valid for one year.

PNG Red Cross Society thanked the airline for having them facilitate the training and congratulated the young women in successfully completing the program.

As most accidents are sudden and happen unexpectedly, it is vital to have staff equipped with necessary first aid skills they can utilize in emergencies.

PNG Ports Assists Alotau Families

Almost K10,000 worth of items, including mattresses, bed spreads, buckets, storage containers, kitchen utensils, kerosene lamps, bags, torches, toiletries and baby essentials were presented to the town Mayor and Red Cross, as the humanitarian lead, who will be distributing the items to the families, on behalf of PNG Ports.

Managing Director of PNG Ports, Fego Kiniafa, said PNG Ports was assisting as a responsible corporate citizen with a port in Alotau.

“It is a dire situation given that a number of women and children have no shelter and basic essential items,” he said.

Disaster committee formed in Mt Hagen

The working group involves members of the national and provincial disaster office, Papua New Guinea Defence Force, Australian Defence Force, Ipili Pogera Investment (IPI), PNG Red Cross, MAF and other non-government organisations.

Chaired by Papua New Guinea Defence Force Joint Task Force Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Immanuel Todick, a workable solution had been reached in which IPI transport in Mt Hagen has offered their transport yard to be use as a storage facility.
