Jacks PNG promoting PNG designers

The design completion was launched by the CPL General Manager Mahesh Patel at the Jack’s PNG retail store at its Central Waigani store in Port Moresby.

The competition will close on December 20th 2020 and winners to be announced on 13th January 2021.  K10,000 is the total value of prices to be won of which 5 winners will receive K2,000 each.

However all entries will also be featured on Jacks PNG’s 2021/2022 seasonal merchandise.

PNG designers working together to create and sell

Lavagirl, the Kokopo based fashion brand and maker of the Lavagirl jewelry has signed on with Ui--‐Tiki Fashion, PNG’s first online fashion retailer to customise earrings or its “Aneru” collection.

Ui--‐Tiki’s Aneru collection focuses on resort wear that is inspired by traditional tattoos of the people of the Aroma Coast in the Abau District of the Central Province of PNG.  Ui--‐Tiki Fashion is owned and managed by Luania Temu based in Port Moresby.

10 designers to showcase fashion on Project Runway

While a few of them have made names both locally and internationally, a few are fresh faces into the industry.

This response has overwhelmed the organising committee, who aims to identify from the runway, a fashion stylist for the Miss PNG entrant to the Miss Pacific Island Pageant.

Deputy Chairperson of the Miss Pacific Island Pageant (MPIP) PNG Molly O’Rourke said:

“This goes to show there is so much talent and potential in our arts and we, the Project Runway, are only gleaning the tip of the iceberg.”
