Changes in PNG Air

Lamur was appointed as a director of the company on 19 June 2018 and he was elected as the chairman of the company’s board of directors.

The board expressed their sincere gratitude to Lamur for his dedication and hard work to PNG Air.

The board has met and appointed Augustine Mano as an interim chairman until further announcement is made.

Mano has been the longest serving PNG board member since 17 March 2010. 

PNG Air, Virgin Australia code-share agreement

After comments received from stakeholders and submissions from the parties, the ICCC assessed the application and is satisfied that the code-share services, if authorised, would generate more benefits to the public, which are likely to outweigh any detriments, including any lessening of competition.

Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer Paulus Ain, whilst acknowledging that free sale code-share arrangement is not very competitive, said the arrangement will allow a new marketing carrier to enter the market.

This follows his immediate appointment as an additional director of the company on 19 June, 2018.

The PNG Air Limited Board says Lamur has a wealth of board experience as well as enormous experience at CEO level across various industries and brings integrity, business acumen and has well developed skills in high level strategic and corporate planning, business development, marketing and corporate governance.

Woo resigns as PNG Air chairman

His resignation is effective from May 3, 2018, ending his tenure of more than three years.

Woo was appointed chairman of PNG Air Limited in 2014, two years after becoming a director in 2012.

The PNG Air Limited Board anticipates announcing its new chairman after its meeting scheduled for May 9th 2018.

Woo’s resignation comes more than a week after the announcement of Murlee Siva as chief executive officer.
