CPG delivers projects in Pari

Students, teachers and parents opened a double classroom and a teacher’s house.

This two initiatives at the value of K150 000 were funded by the Central Provincial Government.

Coming under projects initiated by the former Governor for Central Province Kila Haoda, the two infrastructure were completed recently and handed over to the school today.

Coasters cruise to 4 wicket win

 In the round 6 match in the men's premier division, Pari batted first and finished at 9/116 batting out the full 20 overs.

Pari's Lister Oala top scored with 26 runs.

It was Colin Amini who was the best of the bowlers for Coasters taking 3/12.

In their run chase, Coasters’ openers, Chris Amini (14) and Nuana Nuana (44) made it look easy with a solid opening partnership.

Coasters reached the target after 18.2 overs finishing at 6/119.

In the other matches of the weekend, Badili edged out Poreporena by 5 runs while United thrashed Kempa by 8 wickets.

Village mum encourages females to get cancer checks

Atta is married with four teenage daughters and lives in the village with her family.

She was involved in the recent cancer awareness program carried out in her village by the PNG Cancer Foundation.

Atta thanked PNGCF for the initiative in educating the village women as this was an eye opener for many of them to get checked up.

She said they appreciated the awareness program as many women didn’t know about the different types of cancer, their symptoms and prevention and most times it is just negligence.
