Paga Hill development to target Chinese tourists

Minister Maru when announcing the entry of Radisson Blu to the PNG hotel industry, stated, “This is a very exciting announcement at a very strategic time and a very exciting time in our nation’s history. This investment could not have come at a better time because the inaugural direct flight between Guangzhou and Port Moresby will arrive tomorrow (Wed Dec 20, 2023). 

K700 million hotel development on Paga Hill

Today's announcement was made of the partnership between Radisson Blu and Paga Hill Development Company.

Minister for International Trade and Investment Richard Maru welcomed this announcement as it aligns with the government’s plans to develop special economic zones that Paga Hill is part of.

K3 billion tourism hub construction to start soon

That is the guarantee from Paga Hill Development Company CEO Gudmundur Fridriksson today after the MoU signing with Tourism Promotion Authority CEO Jerry Agus and Trade, Commerce and Industry secretary, John Andrias.   

Fridriksson said it was a proud moment for the company as it took 20 years to see the proposal get off the ground.

Paga Hill Development Company will meet the total cost of construction of the planned tourism hub.

Fridriksson challenged the government to provide incentives to help the company in fast tracking the construction of the project.

K3 billion tourism hub for Port Moresby

A  Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today by Tourism Promotion Authority CEO Jerry Agus and Trade, Commerce and Industry secretary, John Andrias, and Paga Hill Development Company CEO Gudmundur Fridriksson.    

Tourism Minister Tobias Kulang and Trade, Commerce and Industry Minister Richard Maru were also in attendance.

PHDC sponsors 2016 literary competition

This is a Literary Competition open to all citizens of Papua New Guinea, of all ages, and is a way for all Papua New Guineans to express themselves in writing, whether it be in poetry, short stories or arts (illustrations).

There are nine categories in the competition and these are; short stories, poetry, essay and journalism, heritage writing, book of the year, illustrations, writing for children and Women in Writing. Emerging young writer is a new category that was added this year
