Sharon Osbourne on her husband’s sex addiction

"He's [been] going to outpatient for sex addiction for the last three months and after the Black Sabbath tour, he goes into inpatient for three months," Osbourne said on her show "The Talk" on Wednesday. "He's working at it."

Osbourne first disclosed there was trouble in her marriage in May when she said the rocker had moved out of their Los Angeles home.

"It's hard because it affects the whole family and it's quite embarrassing to talk about," she said. "Drugs and drinking is more acceptable. But when it's somebody who has a sex addiction, it's more embarrassing."

The Black Sabbath singer said he was "mortified" at the effect his behaviour had had on his family.

Osbourne, 67, made the statement following an interview given by his hair stylist Michelle Pugh.

Ms Pugh told People magazine she had had a "very real relationship" with the rock star which had lasted four years.

In his statement, the rock singer said: "Over the last six years, I have been dealing with a sex addiction.

The pair, who have been together for 33 years, reunited at the Los Angeles Palladium for a press conference on Thursday where Sharon supported Ozzy by announcing the merging of Ozzfest and Slipknot's Knotfest, and when the rock star sat down with E!

Among her remarks, Osbourne was careful to note that she had been keeping her eyes off of the news.
