PNG downs NC 7-0

The PNG girls kept the pressure on right from the start and finally broke the defence down in the 30th minute through Jacklyn Maiyosi, who fired one past keeper Karine Xozame.

The lead was pushed out to 2-0 right on half-time, thanks to a well-placed strike off the boot of PNG’s first goal scorer at the FIFA World Cup – Nicollete Ageva.

There was no stopping PNG after this, starting with a goal from Ramona Padio three minutes into the second half.

U19 women’s champs: NZ thrash PNG 12-0

Hannah Blake fired the ball past PNG’s keeper Faith Kasiray to find the back of the net and open the scoring in the 16th minute.

It became 2-0 when Samantha Tawharu slotted another past Kasiray off a pass from Emma Main.

The home side struck twice in additional time to bring the score out at 4-0 at the break.

The floodgates opened up in the second half of the match with the Kiwis scoring another eight goals in what was a lopsided affair.
