NRL Competition manager

PNG Residents comp different: NRLC

NRL Competition manager, Stanley Hondina, said this whilst giving an update on ticket sales today.

The NRL Competition manager said PNG Residents consists entirely of local-bred players.

“This is the pinnacle program or event for the Digicel Cup,” he stated.

“We’ve had the 22 weeks of competition, finishing grand final on the 2nd of September which was a magnificent event that we successfully delivered in front of 15,000 people.

“This is pure Papua New Guinea boys.”

No violence in rugby, reminds NRLC

This was reiterated by the NRL Competition manager, Stanley Hondina, recently.

The reminder on the zero-tolerance policy follows the suspension of Digicel Cup games at the John Ambane Oval in Minj, Jiwaka Province.

Spectator violence during the Round 12 match between Waghi Tumbe and Enga Mioks has resulted in a suspension for the rest of the 2018 season.
