Hunters lose Zeming and Amean to injury

Zeming and Amean suffered serious injuries during last Sunday's 24-8 loss to the Norths Devils.

Zeming underwent an operation to his thumb while Amean is undergoing scans to his knee.

Coach of the Hunters, Michael Marum will finalize the 18 man squad this Thursday before the team departs for Australia on Friday.

The round 17 game against the Tweed Heads Seagulls on Sunday will kick off at 2pm at the Piggabeen Sports Complex, Brisbane.

Marum yet to finalise squad to take on Devils

Marum revealed that fullback Stargroth Amean and utility Noel Zeming are both under injury clouds.

He said Amean struggled to train during the week and is currently being monitored by the physio while Zeming is still carrying an injured arm and fractured wrist.

Marum went on to say if Zeming is ruled out, 18th man Butler Morris will be slotted in to take his place.

Forward Brandy Peter will miss this weekend's game after Marum explained for personal reasons.

This has pushed Enoch Maki into the starting line-up.

Zeming remains positive despite missing out on Kumuls selection

Zeming said he was disappointed that he was not included in the team but remains positive and focused on the Hunters season.

He said preparation for the Round 9 match against Redcliffe Dolphins on the weekend was tough after the Kumuls side was named last week with most Hunters included in the side.

“It was important that we focused and concentrated on the game as we have a long season ahead and the Test match for the Kumuls is a one-off game.

Zeming and Korave to lead Hunters

SP Hunters Coach Micheal Marum announced their names adding they are potential leaders that the management has confidence in to lead the team.

“I want to thank the coaching staff for the confidence in me and Adam to lead the boys for this season. I know it’s a big task but I believe in the boys for cooperation,” Zeming said.

He said being under the leadership of Coach Micheal Marum and former captain Israel Eliab in the past two years has given him a bit of courage to lead.
