Final countdown to FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup kick-off

Four matches will be played today at two separate venues.

Pool A matches will be played at the Sir John Guise (SJG) stadium and Pool B matches will be played at Bava Park.

The first two matches will kick off at 4pm.

Sweden and Korea DPR will take the field after the opening ceremony at the SJG stadium in front of an expected sellout crowd.

Sweden will be banking on key players Stina Blackstenius, Nathalie Bjorn and Tove Almqvist. Korea DPR has key players Ri Un Sim and Ri Kyong Hyang to help them through to victory.

Nigeria investigates reports that officials raped displaced women

The move comes after Human Rights Watch published a report detailing accounts by dozens of women and girls who said they were sexually abused or coerced into sex.

The women said they were raped or abused by camp leaders, vigilante group members, policemen and soldiers at camps in Borno State's capital, Maiduguri. The camps were set up to offer aid to people displaced by fighting in Nigeria's northeast.

The countries under the care of the electorate will be Spain, Nigeria, Brazil, and France.

Minister for Sports, APEC, and National Events, Justin Tkatchenko, said shirts will be printed with the flags of each country and given to the girls to wear as chaperones for each country.

He said the teams will have about two to three days between matches and will have time to visit the city and so will be looked after by the girls.

Online fraud: Top Nigerian scammer arrested

The 40-year-old man, known as "Mike" is alleged to head a network of 40 individuals behind global scams worth more than $60m (£45m).

His operations involves using targeted malware to take over systems, use compromised emails and romance scams.

Nigeria's anti-fraud agency was also involved in the arrest.

"In one case, a target was conned into paying out $15.4 m (£11m)," Interpol said in a statement.

"Mike" also allegedly ran a money laundering network in China, Europe and the US.

Australian workers at engineering giant Macmahon kidnapped in Nigeria

The workers are employed by Perth-based mining and engineering company Macmahon Holdings.

Mr Turnbull said the gunmen also shot dead one of the mining company's drivers during the attack near the capital of Cross River State, Calabar.

"We don't know at this stage the identity of the kidnappers and families in Australia are notified of course," he said.

"It is a very serious kidnapping, a very serious criminal assault, one person was killed and seven people have been kidnapped."

Boko Haram kills more than 50 people in two-days

Girl suicide bomber kills 5, injures 41 in northeast Nigeria

In one attack, a girl bomber died in an explosion that killed five people at the crowded entrance to the main bus station, said Assistant Superintendent Toyin Gbagedesin. Witnesses said a young male suicide bomber killed only himself when his device exploded prematurely.

Gbagedesin said 41 people were wounded in the bus station explosion. The bomber appeared to be about 14 years old.
