Man faces ‘unfortunate death’ case

Moses Nianpo, who is 30-years-old from the Angoram district, appeared at the Waigani Committal Court on allegations he killed his wife. He is currently remanded at Bomana.

Magistrate Cosmas Bidar described his case as an ‘unfortunate one’ which resulted from an accidental death.

He said many times women suffer from enlarged spleen which can be caused from mosquito bites and in this case, Nianpo was in court for allegedly punching his wife in the stomach which raptured the enlarged spleen and caused her death.

3 alleged Tatana shooting cops in court

Ian Gunawi of East Sepik Province, Philip Pokop of Manus and Lawrence Sausau (officials did not disclose his address) all appeared in person before Magistrate Mekeo Gauli this morning.

Gunawi on September 10 appeared before Magistrate Cosmas Bidar however his case has since been transferred to Magistrate Gauli’s court.

All three and a woman were arrested and charged for the unlawful and wilful murder of Naime at Tatana village on January 17 this year.

1 suspect in northeastern NC shooting death turns self in

A statement from police said 24-year-old Brandon Joyner turned himself in around midday Saturday.

The State Bureau of Investigation says the two men are believed to be armed and dangerous.

An SBI statement says 24-year-old Shuntavius Vaughan of Conway was shot and killed just after midnight Friday.

Authorities are still looking for Rumeal Daye and Akeem Robinson. Both are 24 years old and are from Conway, a small town in the state's northeast. They face multiple charges, including first-degree murder and firearm possession by a felon.
