A Public Motor Vehicle (PMV) driver was attacked and the conductor was robbed of their takings over the weekend.

She is Takeisi Hellen Vetali who is sponsored by an Italian company that deals with precious metals and is based in PNG - Italpreziosi South Pacific Limited.

Vetali is a flight attendant with Air Niugini and has offered her time and effort to participate in the pageant.

The 22 year old from remote Iove village of inland Rigo in Central Province decided to join the pageant to support the MPIP PNG in raising scholarship funds for girls.

The sponsorship will also assist the Pageants' scholarship fund to educate young girls in the country.

MPIP PNG committee member, Mrs Molly O'Rourke said Many of our scholarship beneficiaries are scattered around the country.

"Some of them are attending vocational or technical colleges, and universities.

 "With support from companies like SP Brewery, we will continue to educate more and more young girls," she said.
