Elderly Gulf man charged with minor’s rape

The incident allegedly occurred from 2016 to November 4th, 2017, at Joyce Bay, Sabama.

The victim, a 13-year-old female, reported that she was 11 years old when the suspect used to entice her with money in return for sexual favours.

The victim reported the matter after her relatives questioned her upon noticing changes in her physical appearance.

The parents and relatives of the victim apprehended the suspect and handed him over to Police.

The man is now locked up in the cells awaiting further police action.

15 years for assaulting minor

He pleaded guilty to the offense, which he committed on the evening of 2 April last year, behind the family home’s pit toilet.

The man came home drunk that evening, between 7 and 8:30pm where he took the victim out and sexually assaulted the 7 year old, by inserting his penis in her mouth. He also fondled her genitals.

 Her father found them outside, after he passed out, as he was under the influence of alcohol.

Despite the plea, the age difference was a factor the court considered when deciding his sentence.

Verdict on father’s sexual assault case today

A trial was conducted in the Waiagnai National Court after the man pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting his 13-year-old daughter in 2012.

The victim was in grade 6 at the time she was allegedly assaulted on three occasions.

The man whose identity is withheld to the age of the victim stood trial before Justice Nicholas Kirriwom this week.

It is the State’s allegation that he sexually assaulted her (penetration) in August, September and November of 2012 at various locations in the city after picking her up from school.

Refugee arrested over sexual assault of 10 year old

Acting Provincial Police Commander senior inspector David Yapu told Loop PNG that the accused, 28 year-old Muhammad Hussain of Pakistan was formally arrested on Monday.

He was charged with four counts of sexual penetration, under section 229(a) of the Criminal Code Act and Sexual offense and Crimes against Children’s Act.

PPC Yapu said the defendant invited the victim and two others to the lodge where she was violated.

Hussain is expected to appear in court this Wednesday for mention.

In court for allegedly assaulting 9yo

The man appeared at the Waigani Committal Court on Wednesday where his two charges were read and explained to him.

He was arrested on Dec 23, 2016, and charged for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl at the ATS settlement.

It is alleged he sexually assaulted the girl on two different occasions. The assault started on Dec 5 when the girl’s parents went to the clinic.

His second attempt to violate the minor on Dec 7, 2016, failed when the mother of the victim caught him.

The perpetrator lived with the victim’s family.

Foreigner on sexual abuse charge of minor in Lae

Police said the male foreigner of Asian origin was in the company of a married couple, who arranged for the sexual penetration of a 15 - year old girl.

According to police reports, the middle-aged Asian sexually penetrated the girl from Salamaua LLG in the Morobe Province after she was arranged by her uncle and his wife.

It was alleged that the victim was taken into town by the couple in the pretext of looking after her and help her with some cash.

The Asian suspect sexually penetrated the victim five times within two days last year.

No record of victim’s age sees sex case dismissed

The two men were charged with sexually penetrating a 13-year-old girl on July 6, 2014, in Port Moresby. However, that case was dismissed today.

The court in dismissing the case for insufficient evidence said in instances of offence committed under section 229(a) of the PNG Criminal Code, sexual offences and crimes against children’s act, evidence of the complainant’s age is an important feature.
