Atlas Steel continues support to MOH

Branch Manager Peter Browne, shared that Atlas Steel PNG is pleased to remain a proud sponsor for the Men of Honour Awards since the beginning of the campaign in 2014. 

‘’This is the seventh year the company is supporting, now with a sponsorship of K25, 000. Additional support includes merchandise packs for each of the three selected ambassadors for the Momase Region,” he said. 

Hilton Backs Men of Honour

The awards night will be on 10th of December 2021. The agreement between Hilton Port Moresby and Digicel Foundation on 12th of October.

Hilton Port Moresby Commercial Director, Robbie Turner, said they are very happy and excited to support this worthwhile cause.

CEO of Digicel PNG Foundation, Serena Sasingian, said Hilton Hotel’s support is greatly appreciated.

“The Awards Night Dinner is a flagship event on our calendar and the support given by Hilton Hotel will allow us to make this a successful and meaningful night for the recipients of the Awards.”

PNG Air Supports Awards

The awards was launched on August 27, 2021 to allow members of the public to nominate ordinary men who are doing extra-ordinary things to build peace in their respective communities.

PNG Air Acting Chief Commercial Officer, Nancy Nakikus said PNG Air is pleased to support the Men of Honour Campaign by providing return flights to the ports the team requires to travel for interviews with nominees and quality checks.

New Men of Honour judges announced

It recognises ordinary men who are doing extraordinary things to alleviate suffering in their communities.

Each year six awards are given during the Men of Honour Awards Dinner Night.

Three vibrant leaders have joined the dynamic six-member independent panel of judges to select finalists for Season 5 of the Men of Honour Awards.

These three new judges are:

Digicel Foundation launches Men of Honour campaign

The launch kicks off another cycle of identifying male role models in communities.

The awards is anti-violence campaign initiated by Digicel PNG Foundation, to tell a different story about men in Papua New Guinea.

“In our campaign, we have opted to look for men who are champions in all host of areas. Each men have a journey and telling their story will be a hope for the next generation,” said Douveri Henao, Chairman – Digicel PNG Foundation Board.

Granger Narara: My father, my ‘Man of Honour’

During the gala ‘black bowtie only’ event, held at Stanley Hotel in Port Moresby on the night of Saturday April 29,  he also spoke about his “most memorable moment” when he highlighted his 41 year flying career.

The memorable moment  occurred on March 30th, 2013 and was the flight He conducted on an A330 from Abu Dhabi to Brussels, Belgium with his son Nigel as my co-pilot.

Granger Narara graces Men of Honour gala night

Many who were present had only heard of the name Granger Narara who was flying A330 aircrafts from Abu Dhabi to destinations around the world, but on Saturday night they had a chance in a lifetime to meet this humble yet, living PNG icon.

Captain Narara told his story of his life from a simple village in Milne Bay to being and International Airline Pilot and how he has guided his brother and son to follow in his footsteps.

High flying pilot to speak at MOH night

The Men of Honour Awards is Digicel Foundation’s innovative campaign against violence, designed to create conversation around the issue for a pendulum shift in the attitudes by recognising ordinary men doing extraordinary deeds.

Digicel Foundation CEO, Beatrice Mahuru, said she was excited to hear the story of Captain Narara, whose tale of hard work and commitment can raise locals to become demanded international human resource.

Bundi people to receive free medical eye glasses

The glasses will be donated to eye patients for free by Community impact projects director Vincent Kumura this week.

The Men of Honour and the Community Ingenuity Award Winner will continue his community work in the rural areas and will be distributing the glasses during a health outreach program.

The outreach program will be carried out from Oct 10-12 at Snow Pass in Bundi.

The glasses were sent by Dr. Marc Richmond of California and were donated by individuals and organizations in the United States.

Men of Honour Award set for April

At the Gala Dinner, ordinary men who are doing extra ordinary things will be awarded through the Foundation’s Men of Honour campaign.

These Men of Honour that have been nominated by their communities for the roles they play as education champions, local investors, protectors, visionaries and leaders.

According to a statement from the Foundation, of the 88 nominations that they received, an independent panel of judges has selected 15 finalists.
