Cowboy’s Matt Scott to lead Trukai Fun Run

Currently sidelined with injury, Scott will add an extra sprinkle of stardust to an already impressive roster of sporting celebrities at the Trukai Fun Run.

Scott will lead as the 2017 Trukai Fun Run Ambassador on Sunday June 11 at the Sir John Guise Stadium.

He will be joined by another Cowboys favourite, retired Australian and Queensland centre/winger, Brent Tate.

The duo will also have alongside them SP Hunters players and Team PNG athletes.

Taumalolo, Scott to challenge bans

Both were charged over hits in the Cowboys' golden point win over Brisbane, with Taumalolo risking a two-match ban if found guilty at the judiciary.

Scott is facing a one-match ban but is also sidelined indefinitely after suffering an ACL injury during the match.

Meanwhile Warriors prop Charlie Gubb and Raiders forward Iosia Soliola have pleaded guilty to charges but will escape suspensions.

Taumalolo, Scott face suspensions

Taumalolo will miss one match with an early guilty plea but risks a two-match ban if he unsuccessfully fights the charge, which results from his 26th-minute hit on Brisbane's Alex Glenn on Friday night.

Matt Scott, who suffered a knee injury against the Broncos, is facing a one-match ban, while Gubb can avoid a suspension if he pleads guilty to a grade one dangerous contact charge.

Thurston pleads for Scott to stay

At 31 years of age Scott has already spoken about the need to make his next contract one that best serves his family which is professional athlete code for the need to cash in before the body can finally take no more.

Matt off Scott free

Appearing via video link, the Queensland and Australian representative successfully argued that his actions were careful, rather than careless as put forward by the prosecution on Wednesday night.

Using a simultaneous four angle shot, Scott admitted he had put Edwards into an awkward position, but had shown due diligence to ensure no pressure was applied to the head and neck area.

The verdict means Scott will be free to play the Roosters on Thursday night.
