Spouse Program ends with APEC Garden opening

Officially opening the APEC Garden, Lynda Babao-O'Neill spoke about the significance of protecting the foundation of each economy and country; foundations based on culture, flora and fauna.

She reflected on PNG’s emergence from a tribal society to a modern nation.

The APEC Garden features 21 totem poles, traditionally hand-carved by Papua New Guineans.

Each totem pole represents the national symbols of the 21 APEC economies.

A touch of flora and fauna from the APEC economies are amongst PNG’s rare and unique orchid species.

Lynda Babao–O’Neill launches vaccine to prevent cervical cancer

The official launching took at the Parliament State Function room yesterday.

The launching is the start of the pilot program to vaccinate girls aged 14 to 19, nationwide in the following years.

The vaccination program will start in the National Capital District in 65 Primary Schools, covering 20,000 girls, beginning in the first week of April, and then will be rolled out across the country in 2018.

Friends of the Museum initiative launched

The ‘Friends of the Museum’ is an initiative intended to support and complement the roles and efforts of the Museum to do its work more effectively through community support and engagement.

The initiative was launched by patron Lynda Babao-O’Neill last night at the Museum in Port Moresby with over 20 people who witnessed the event.

Babao said the National Museum has gone through a remarkable transformation over the past few years.

Miss Pacific great role model

Patron of Miss Pacific Islands Pageant Papua New Guinea (MPIP PNG) Lynda Babao-O'Neill when congratulating Miss Havora, said she is a great role model for many young women.

She said Abigail has proudly and so graciously represented our country as Miss PNG at the pageant in Cook Islands. 

“Her win not only highlights her wonderful Pacific values and virtues but also instills in us all, such pride in being a Papua New Guinean.
