Ms has attracted such a range of meaning that even the editor of the Macquarie Dictionary, Sue Butler, feels that it may be time to update its entry.

The honorific title for a woman — which, like its male equivalent Mr, was meant to give no clue as to an individual's marital status — has been traced back to the early 20th century.

Huge landslide in Chimbu leaves 400 families homeless

A massive landslide has occurred on the foot of Mount Porol in Chimbu's Sinasina Yongomugl District over the weekend destroying houses, food gardens, cash crops and cultivation lands.

UN to sponsor Award for essay contest

The contest will cover university students only who are to write an essay about 2,000 words long, or less on global citizenship and  cultural understanding, and how different languages can play a part in fostering this.

Participants need to be 18 years or older and must write the essay in the participants second language.

Altogether 60 students will be awarded a chance of a lifetime to travel to the United States of America to attend the Global Youth Forum.
