Taekwondo championship to be hosted

Beginning in 2013, the Korean Ambassador’s Cup has gained tremendous interest among Taekwondo coaches and athletes in PNG. The primary purpose of the Cup is to enhance ties between Korea and PNG.

Galaxy S8 Plus 128GB initial stock sells out in Korea

The South Korean tech giant prepared 150,000 units for pre-orders of the Galaxy S8 Plus 128GB model, which only comes in jet black and has 6GB RAM compared to 4GB RAM of the Galaxy S8. Now initial stock has sold out, those who newly pre-order the phone will get the model as late as end of May, Samsung said.

The company also said it has sold a total of 620,000 units of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in the country so far.

Minister Pato welcomes new Republic of Korea envoy

Minister Pato said his (Bum-soc’s) tour of duty to PNG which will further enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries.

He thanked the Korean Government for their on-going support for bilateral development assistance since the two countries formed diplomatic ties in 1976.

Korea trails behind Germany

A defeat will affect the Asian team’s chances of making it to the next stage of the U20 Women’s World Cup.   

Playing under the flood lights at the Sir John Guise Stadium tonight, the Koreans felt the might of the Germans as they were put under extreme pressure from the start.

Germany turned pressure into points in the 12th minute.

PNG and South Korea match underway

Top team South Korea, in red   is led by captain Un Hwa Kim.

The PNG side in yellow is being led by captain Yvonne Gabong.

A crowd of 5,449 is out to support the home team.

Many fans on the stands have expressed support for the PNG side despite their two previous loses.

The Koreans will be hoping to score a big margin tonight but PNG is also out to put pressure and maintain their defense.

Korea DPR registers first win at World Cup match

The women in red stole the show with an outstanding performance, leaving Sweden scoreless, 2-0.

Korea DPR played a fast and dominating game, securing 1-0 in the first half, 24 minutes into the game, through Hyang Sim Ri.

They displayed highly skilled techniques with their fast movements and ball works.

Korea kicked off second half on a high note, scoring their second goal through So Hyang Kim 47 minutes into the game.

She drove the ball into the net from a metre away.
