Digicel extends thoughts and prayers to injured

This follows confirmation by the Accident Investigation Commission (AIC) that two people have been taken to hospital for serious injuries while a third person escaped harm.

In a media statement, Director Government Relations & Public Affairs, Gary Seddon, said Digicel was made aware of the accident on Wednesday involving personnel of the company contracted to provide tower and infrastructure services to Digicel.

“At this stage Digicel is aware that the incident has resulted in injuries to passengers and crew of the operating aircraft and a bystander.

According to the AIC a passenger and a bystander were seriously injured when the helicopter crashed during takeoff.

Initial reports received by Loop PNG  on Wednesday stated that both passengers of the helicopter were injured.

However in a statement, AIC Chief Executive Officer, David Inau, corrected the initial report
