Justin's unique style and sound is stemmed from his diverse musical influences, but it is also undoubtedly a result of his life experiences in his home, Papua New Guinea.

JW in small scale gigs in Cairns

The Iko Iko singer is still active but on a low profile, in Cairns – North Queensland Australia where he is currently based.

JW, Friday night performed at the Port Douglas Central Hotel – a regular venue, an hour drive from Cairns.

“I’m performing pretty much every weekend around this area, unless I’m travelling away. Just doing single performance stuff here and there,” he said.

While there are plans for him to travel to Papua New Guinea for performances in March and April this year, nothing is definite at the moment.

PNG’s Alyson Joyce and Justin Wellington will feature Australian hip-hop artist URTHBOY to raise funds for Doctors Without Borders, an international humanitarian-aid non-governmental organisation (NGO).

Doctors Without Borders, also known as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), is best known for its projects in war-torn regions and developing countries facing endemic diseases, including Papua New Guinea.
