Kikoli’s attacker warned in court

Clement Manguva returned to the Waigani Committal Court yesterday.

With police still carrying out their investigations over Kikoli’s brutal assault of March 3, his case was adjourned for another month.

However the adjournment did not go without a reminder from Magistrate Mekeo Gauli.

Gauli told Mungava, who is on a K500 police bail, that his bail will be revoked in the event he interferes with state witnesses.

He allegedly assaulted Kikoli on March 3 at Morata barracks.

The NCD Metropolitan Superintendent, Perou N’Dranou, said the suspect, Clement Manguva, who is attached with the Dog Unit, will be dealt with administratively but only after he has gone through all legal proceedings in court.

Manguva was arraigned before the Committal Court over Kikoli’s brutal assault on March 3.

Her former partner, Clement Manguva, also a police officer based with the Dog unit, has been arraigned before the Committal Court over her brutal assault on March 3.

Manguva who is on a K500 police bail had his case adjourned to June to give CID officers time to investigate further and compile a police hand-up brief in court.

This document will assist the Committal Court weigh out the evidence against Manguva, who was charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.

Apart from the criminal case, he is also facing disciplinary charges within the constabulary.

Officer should not have been released: Police

The officer, attached with the NCD Dog Unit, was charged with one count of grievous bodily harm under the Criminal Code Act of his ex-partner (Kikoli) but released on K500 bail last Wednesday.

NCD Metropolitan Superintendent, Perou N’Dranou, said the cell officers were misinformed.
