Joseph Parker

Whyte: I'll knock Parker out

Whyte (20-1-KO15), who earned a narrow win over Dereck Chisora last December, returns to the ring against former world title challenger Mariusz Wach at London's O2 on June 3, live on Sky Sports.

Parker labours to points win

Parker failed to send out a warning to the division's biggest names such as Anthony Joshua, producing a workmanlike display against his former sparring partner and failing to land any telling blows.

The hulking Cojanu only took the fight at short notice, following the withdrawal of Hughie Fury, and seemingly enjoyed the bout, spending the 12 rounds goading Parker and playing up to the crowd.

But, while he took Parker's punches well, Cojanu never posed a great threat himself and Romania will have to wait for a first heavyweight champion.

Parker tips Klitschko win

New Zealander Parker will have a keen eye on the fight which has the IBF and WBA belts up for grabs. He's eager to line up a fight with either Klitschko or Joshua and would welcome a title unification bout with his WBO belt.

Parker's mind has been swaying backwards and forwards on who might win at Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday (NZ time), in front of a 90,000 crowd.

"Leading up to the fight I was thinking of Joshua and his power but now the more I think about it, I come back to the experience factor of Klitschko," the 25-year-old Parker said on Friday.

Joseph Parker v Anthony Joshua fight 'possible'

Parker, the World Boxing Organisation champion, makes his maiden defence against Fury at Auckland's Vector Arena.

NZ Herald reports Joshua, the International Boxing Federation titleholder, and Klitschko, the former IBF, WBO and World Boxing Association champion, fight for the vacant WBA belt at London's Wembley Stadium.

A total of 90,000 tickets are understood to have been sold for the latter fight alongside an expected million pay-per-view passes, courtesy of an exclusive deal with BSkyB. Budgets suggest the fight will generate more than 50 million in revenue.

Parker-Fury in New Zealand

The unbeaten 22-year-old, who is the WBO's mandatory challenger, had hoped his first world title fight would be staged in Britain, but Parker's promoters Duco Events won the purse bid with an offer of $3,000,011.

Parker will now have home advantage for his first defence of the WBO title, which he claimed with a points victory over Andy Ruiz Jr in December.

Parker to make Fury wait

The British duo have been named on a shortlist of possible opponents for Parker, who is likely to defend his WBO heavyweight belt on April 8 after claiming the vacant title with a points win over Andy Ruiz Jr this month.

Parker's promoters, Duco Events, are seeking 'clarification' on whether Fury is the WBO mandatory challenger and will continue to assess a number of alternative fights.
