Jokema gearing up to ignite Lae city!

The award winning band is set to amplify the Lae International Hotel with their hit songs and new releases from their upcoming album. They are renowned for their live performances and will treat the crowd to a jam packed exciting concert.

SP Export Soundwaves will sponsor the national tour with dates to be soon announced at the launch of the album. 

As part of the fun and excitement at the concert, SP Export will run promotions and give away SP Export merchandise.

Jokema urges fans to have a safe Christmas

Front man Honlly Isaac urges fans to be happy with family and friends and have a safe Christmas.

Isaac said: “The greatest gift we all can give someone is love.

“Take care and love from Jokema.”

Jokema performed during the 2016 National Capital District (NCD) Carols by Candlelight on Saturday, December 17, at Murray Barracks.

Jokema, via its official Facebook page, said it was an honour to perform at the event.

“Together we can make our city and our nation safe for everyone. Walk hand in hand into 2017.”

Jokema dominates music awards

The awards night was held at the Lamana Gold Club, Port Moresby, witnessed by a sold out crowd of fans.

Jokema took out its first award of the night beating nominees Stagajah and Masalai Crew for the Group of the Year.

The band’s second award was the Album of the Year with its third album Niugini Flaiva. Jokema beat nominees Demas Saul (Pul Kanu) and Stagajah (Sailor Boy) to claim the award.

Hit song New Ireland won the Longest Charting Song for the band, beating Painim Pis by Demas Saul and Skul Meri by Robert Danaben.

Artists ready to perform tonight at music awards

They’re Sean Rii, Tarvin Tounie, Hot Wills, Sinklaine, Demas Saul, Wah’Koo, Jokema, Solomon Islands group Dezine and the boys from PRO ED production Narxson, Iroro and Gee Ruun & Bata Bah. 

The artists, who are also nominees, were kept busy this week with rehearsals and public appearances at various locations in Port Moresby, meeting fans and promoting the event.

Tounie and Wah’koo Boys front man Eldiz Mune told Loop PNG during the week that they’re excited and looking forward to performing in front of their fans.

Jokema Band advocates against youth suicide

The band began its awareness campaign with its national tour promoting the launch of its third album Niugini Flavour.

All proceeds from the tour will be used to launch the campaign in 2016 to fight youth suicide.

Jokema lead vocals Honlly Isaac spoke strongly about the issue during the recent announcement of the album launch and tour.

“This is an issue that I keep close to my heart as I have had personal experiences in my family.

Jokema takes legal action against copyright claims

These claims were first published on social media and later by weekly newspaper Sunday Chronicle on Sunday 14 June titled ‘Jokema’s SP Games Joke’.

It involves the song that has been chosen as the official PNG Games theme song.

The claims, according to Sunday Chronicle, made by former foreign service officer Simon Kaumi Junior, stated that Jokema’s Pacific Games theme song ‘We are Heroes’ should be immediately ordered removed from the airwaves.
