Hip Hop Star calls to respect and treat women and girls right

Lieasi who is also the UN Women Youth Champion was speaking to more than 2,600 students at Wardstrip Primary school in Port Moresby during Sanap Wantaim: The New Normal, an anti-violence campaign yesterday. The campaign, co-funded by the National Capital District Commission (NCDC) and the Australia Government will run for eight weeks.

“Boys, you need to stand up and make Port Moresby safe for everyone,” he said.

“You are leaders of tomorrow and it is important how you treat your family, community, city, country and world,” the star said.

U20 women joins UN's women campaign

The team stood together with Papua NEw Guineas Hip Hop sensation and newly appointed UN Women Youth Campion, Jay Lieasi to announce their vision of new normal in the city of Port Morseby.

“Dynamic, determined young women like Yvonne and her teammates are important role models for young women and men everywhere. They demonstrate the power of standing together. They understand the strength a team carries in overcoming challenges,” said UN Women Papua New Guinea Representative Dr. Jeffery Buchanan.

The National Court at Waigani has adjourned an application sought by heads of the National Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate to dismiss the stay on the Prime Minister Peter O’Neill’s arrest to next year.

​Jay Lieasi to perform at mini concert

Lieasi will be supported by all-time favorite singer Dadiigii, Taz and DJ-Swatz at the Digicel Play concert in Vision City on Sunday (13 Dec).

The 27 year old recently featured in the new Christmas song ‘We are family’ released by Digicel to celebrate Christmas.

He collaborated with fellow PNG singer Bianca Noka and prominent musicians from the Pacific.

Lieasi took to his official Facebook page and invited the public and his fans to attend the concert and vibe with them.
